Integrating Biosecurity and Digital Production Monitoring for Layer Poultry Productivity
How to cite (AJARCDE) :
Layer poultry productivity depends on flock health, biosecurity, feed utilization, and data-driven decision-making. Berkah Tigan Farm in Boyolali, Indonesia, struggled with inconsistent biosecurity and fragmented production records. This study evaluated an integrated intervention that combined participatory biosecurity improvements (sanitation, disinfection, PPE, access control) with a digital monitoring system among 20 farmers. The digital system automated Hen-Day Production (HD%) and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) tracking while estimating next-day feed requirements using a 45-day historical sequence. A proof-of-concept forecasting trial predicted 179.4 kg/day versus an actual 180.0 kg/day (0.33% error). Overall, combining preventive biosecurity with digital monitoring provides a practical, systematic framework for data-driven layer poultry management..
